School Administrators Doing It Big Again: Mother Arrested After School Calls Her To Come Get Her Son With Aspergers And She Doesn't Sign In Before Comforting Him

(KMOV) – A mother trying to pick her special needs son up from school winds up in handcuffs and puts the school on lockdown.The furious mother came to News 4 claiming the school handled things all wrong. The incident took place at Walnut Groves Elementary School on Thursday when the mother came to help her son. “I was lying in bed when I received a frantic phone call from the teacher, Michael was panicking,” said Niakea Williams. Michael is Williams’ son and he suffers from Asperger’s syndrome. After getting the call, Williams came up the Ferguson – Florissant school where she was buzzed in by school officials. “I saw a teacher and she said Ms. Williams what is wrong? I said something is wrong with Mikey and proceeded to go straight to my son,” said Williams. She got to her son’s classroom and immediately started to console him. Then the school principal informed her she was violated school policy by not signing in. “I didn’t sign the book, but I had to check on my son. You can bring me the book, She said oh no, I’ve already called the police. You called what,” said Williams. Calverton Park Police responded to the call that came out as an “unauthorized entry to a school.” The school was also put on a 12-minute lockdown and a letter was sent home to parents.“They escorted me away from my son, who already has emotional distress. Four officers told me to turn around and put my hands behind my back, I was under arrest,” said Williams.

So let me get this straight. The school called this mother because her son who suffers from Asbergerg’s was freaking out. Being a responsible parent she rushes to the school to comfort her kid. A teacher buzzes her in. She goes directly to her son’s classroom. Then she is promptly arrested and put in handcuffs because she didn’t sign in first. Wait what? Is this earth?

Ok let’s forget the fact that the school freaking called this lady and asked her to come to the school in the first place.  In fact I’m not even going to get into how stupid the school is because this is par for the course for them. Nothing school administrators do can surprise me anymore. They are the most robotic, idiotic, moronic decision makers on the planet. They use ZERO common sense 1,000% of the time. Instead my question is what’s up with the cops actually following through and arresting this lady? What’s their excuse? I mean holy shit. Can somebody with a brain actually step forward and be like “hey fellas this is fucking insane” Or is that too much to ask? I just don’t get how the very adults who are entrusted with teaching our kids to think for themselves and use common sense can be this deatched from reality. It’s actually really scary when you think about it.

PS – I get the sign in policy. They are probably trying to prevent another Sandy Hook. But if a madman does manage to get into the school I don’t think him not signing in is gonna save lives. It’s just a rule for the sake of having rules because it makes school administrators feel like they are doing something and making positive changes.
